DR. ROBERT F. CLARK
MEMORIAL Scholarship

Robert loved athletics and was an avid sports fan. He was an outstanding athlete in his own right at W. T. Woodson High School as well as Old Dominion University.  He dedicated his life to serving the youth of Fairfax County Public Schools as a teacher, assistant principal and Area Director.

On Friday, February 19, 1999, Fairfax County Public Schools lost a special friend, Dr. Robert F. Clark.  Dr. Clark was a Fairfax County native and graduated from W. T. Woodson High School, where he met his future wife, Edna.  He got his Bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University, his Master’s from George Mason University and his Doctorate from Virginia Tech. 

 

Dr. Clark was a devoted husband and loved spending time with his two daughters, Kim and Kelly.  He was an inspiration to many.  He loved athletics and was an avid sports fan.  He was an outstanding athlete in his own right at W. T. Woodson High School as well as Old Dominion University.  He dedicated his life to serving the youth of Fairfax County Public Schools as a teacher, assistant principal and Area Director. 

 

Dr. Clark was also a principal at Clifton and Rolling Valley Elementary Schools and Edison and Madison High Schools.  In his tenure as a high school principal, Dr. Clark served as a chairman of the Great Falls District and Northern Region Council as well as an officer in the Virginia High School League. 

 

Dr. Clark’s love of his family, people and life will serve as his legacy and this scholarship, named in his honor, is to recognize a student who displays the same characteristics of integrity and compassion for his fellow man, as did Dr. Clark.
